Five must be to much for my brain. ;P

1. The Awakening of Miss Prim (I sincerely wish more people knew of this book!!! It is splendid, clever, and truly--unique. At least, in my humble opinion.)
2. Mara: Daughter of the Nile (If you're looking for a short read. It's excellent!)
3. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (This book is charming! And it's written in letter form to give you some idea of its style.)

SOoo, there are my offerings. :)
~CordyCordyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15180298174546552067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5837860452830746732.post-76645727634764326692016-11-01T20:09:29.852-07:002016-11-01T20:09:29.852-07:00Okay. Ugh.
I'm just going to give you 5 books I really really like, and not try to rank them because I will end up with 50 books on the list. Possibly but not probably there'll be a book you haven't read.
1)North and South. Always a good one. :)
2)Spindle's End, by Robin McKinley
3)Crazy Love, by Francis Chan
4)Swiss Family Robinson
5)The Case for Christ, by Lee Strobel.
I believe it's Lee Strobel. Anywho, all of those are pretty good in my opinion. Spindle's End is a retelling of Sleeping Beauty, and while it's kinda peculiar, it's really interesting and pretty captivating.
I have all of those books; feel free to borrow any of them if you like, before you ask for them or spend your hard-earned cash. :)
Love you!
-Diana
P.S. Lilli said that you spelled "soul" wrong in one of your little side-panel-quote-things. Underneath Anne and the old lady. She was pretty outraged about it. I read it for school, because yes, I am American. :D
(I'm not sure if that's a good thing that people can't tell I'm American. I'm American-sounding enough on Pinterest, but perhaps I should discuss it on the blog more.) *shrug*
Anyways, I will check out those other four books! (It sounds dry by the title, but it is SO GOOD. Maybe you've seen the miniseries. This is better.)
2) Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass (SO Inspiring. Okay, it's a classic, but maybe you haven't read it. This is a thin volume. You could read it in a couple hours.)
3) Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain (About a nurse in the First World War. Incredibly emotional.)
4) My Name Is Mary Sutter by Robin Oliviera (A novel about an American Civil War nurse. Pardon me for so many American suggestion. I'm American & can't tell if you are.) :)
5) Okay, and for a lighter read, The Last Summer by Judith Kinghorn. A love story (and coming of age) set in England during the First World War.)

Above all that though, I highly recommend my favorite novel, Gone wit the Wind. It is INCREDIBLE. I also second the recommendation of To Kill a Mockingbird. :)

-jillian*ೃ༄ Jillianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14139487177036647728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5837860452830746732.post-60085953371021172752016-11-01T12:55:02.942-07:002016-11-01T12:55:02.942-07:00YAY #2!!!YAY #2!!!*ೃ༄ Jillianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14139487177036647728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5837860452830746732.post-36444438433749573032016-11-01T11:28:58.755-07:002016-11-01T11:28:58.755-07:00What a lovely question to ask! :)

The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall
4. Once Upon a Marigold by Jean Ferris
5.The WHOLE Mother-Daughter Book Club series by Heather Vogel Frederick! :P But the first book in the series is titled The Mother Daughter Book Club.
Some of these I read when I was a little younger, so while they're not children's books, they are more simply written. But they are so good, I still read them! :)
PS: That's a gorgeous picture! To Kill a Mockingbird (again you've probably already read this!) (If you haven't BUY IT AND READ IT. :-D)
5.
