My First Post! A Conglomeration of Random Things

Hello there! This is my very first post, which you know can be quite awkward to write. :) It was easier for my craft blog, I just started with a random tutorial, and that was that!
So, I'm not really going to write about anything important today, but I have loads of ideas for future posts I want to do, if you'll only be sure to come back!
Hopefully this 'first post' isn't too terribly disastrous so that you never ever ever want to come back again! Ahem.
So I'm just gonna say a few things, and then maybe I'll get the hang of posting on this blog once and for all.

Here is a sweet picture for you because she kind of reminds me of myself. :)
I've been reading (or more like, trying to finish reading!) Bleak House, by Charles Dickens. It's a great book, so far. I get kind of bogged down with his descriptions sometimes, but it's not overwhelming so that you can't enjoy the story. When I finally finish it, I'm gonna post a review, so stay tuned (there now, you HAVE to come back!).

I saw Mr. Holmes a few weeks ago, and it was great. Way better than I expected it to be! If you like period dramas, or detectives, or even just stirring little stories, then you really should see this movie. I'm not a huge Sherlock Holmes fan, but I do make exceptions for him because I have nothing against detectives in general (certainly not! Some of my favorite shows are detective shows! Just not Sherlock...). Also, Ian McKellen did a stupendous job as Sherlock! When I first heard that he was going to be in it, my initial reaction was: "What?! How can Gandalf be Sherlock?" but I was completely mistaken. Check this movie out, guys. You won't be sorry!
For a better review than this super short paragraph summary, check it out on Plugged In. I'm gonna do more movie reviews as well, because I'm a huge movie buff and I love to talk about them. :)

I am really looking forward to FALL. Most people know that Fall is not my favorite season (Spring for me, thank you very much!), but for some reason I'm especially looking forward to it this year. BUT. I still don't like that pumpkin/cinnamon smell I get when I walk into a craft store!

And if course, writing, writing, and writing.

Trying to write as much as I possibly can before I have to go back to school, even when I have to break my brain just to think of a sentence that's good enough for my books. It doesn't help that I don't have a snazzy typewriter like Kermit, or that I've recently had writer's block. *sigh*
Ah well.
So is this an interesting enough post for you to come back? Is it? Are you not impressed?!
I certainly hope so, peeps!
I will be back for more soon. Until then, if you have not started school yet, have fun with the rest of your break, and I'll see you in the next post!

  2. Ahhh! I love your blog! Although, I must say, it IS weird to see my header up there, seeing as I had it once on my blog. The background you chose is gorgeous! :-D

I'm suffering under writer's block too. :-) I seem to be having the writers block for months now, haha! (Just kidding, it's not THAT bad. But I do seem to be in a pit and I can't get out!)

I want to watch Mr Holmes now! Why, it's Chauvelin! (What I mean is, it's Ian McKellen! He also plays Chauvelin in The Scarlett Pimpernel. :-D)

    What a great first post!

  5. Hello,
I loved reading this post, you said three things that instantly interested me Bleak House, Mr. Holmes and writing.
I've read Bleak House and though I have read maybe three or four Dickens I would say that Bleak House is my favorite. Is this your first Dickens?
I saw Mr. Holmes and I found it fascinating! I'm not a Sherlock fan either, in fact I haven't seen any version of the famous man except this. And as I said I found it intriguing. It left you more than just one story to work through, many levels if you know what I mean. Very enjoyable!
As to writing...I feel the pain of writer's block! Hahaha! It's real!
Can't wait to read more from you!
