~ Winter Wonderland Tag ~

Hello, my little friends!
I don't know if any of you have noticed, but... IT'S DECEMBER. And December always gets me thinking about Winter.
So, I came up with this cute little tag so that we can appreciate Winter better. Yes, yes... I know that the First Day of Winter isn't technically until December 21st... but hey.
We can still have fun with this Winter weather by doing a tag, right?
Here are the rules!
  • Link back to The Storybook Journal (Tryin' to get famous over here, peeps.)
  • Answer the questions; think Winter-y thoughts! Include pictures, if you like.
  • Tag at least 3 other bloggers, or more if you're feeling ambitious. :)
 Here I go:
1. Name a few things you love about Winter, and a few things you don't love so much about it.
I have a strange love-hate relationship with Winter. It is simultaneously my favorite and least favorite season in the whole year. One thing's for sure, though. Come March, I'm always ready and waiting for SPRING.
Things I LOVE:
1. Snooooowwww. Especially the kind that clings to the trees. Who doesn't love to wake up in the morning and look out the window to see their yard covered in glistening powdered sugar...?
2. How grey the sky is (Nah, I'm not a gloomy person; I just like grey.)
3. Cold hands. I am very intrigued by cold hands. Don't ask: you know me well enough to understand that I like strange things for no apparent reason.

Things I DO NOT LOVE:
1. Slushy, dirty, wet, depressing snow. In other words, OLD snow that needs to MELT and DIE.
2. The cooooolllllld *shivers*. TURN UP THE HEAT, WILL YOU?!?!?!?!?
3. It's too long. :( Generally speaking, I like Winter, but too much of one thing is never good (except when you're talking about God, of course). Come January, I'm pretty much ready for Spring.

2. When you were a child, did you "believe" in Santa Claus?
Why no! We didn't "do" the whole Mr. Fatty Claus thing. (*EXCUSE ME* I mean SANTA Claus...). We never did The Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny either.
We just did God. XD
Anyways. Last time I checked, Santa didn't die for anyone. He can't save anyone. Or am I somehow getting this mixed up? *shrugs*

3. Is there a book or movie that you really love to read in the Winter as opposed to other times of year?
I like to watch (and read!) Bleak House in the Winter. It's kind of a Winter-y series- complete with oppressive gloom, cloudy, depressing skies and shivering poor people. I mean, Charles Dickens wrote it, so you know it's "bleak" for sure.
I also like to read the Lord of the Rings in the Wintertime. Not the whole series, but I love to pick out my favorite sections throughout the trilogy (#Faramir and Eowyn #aw yiss).
For some reason, whenever I imagine dangerous medieval quests, I imagine them to be in Winter. I don't know why.

4. Is there a particular Christmas movie that you watch EVERY year as tradition?
When I was growing up, we would always watch It's a Wonderful Life (because you know... Jimmy Stewart is the best and why else?) around Christmastime, but I think last year we watched White Christmas instead, which was also pretty enjoyable.

5. Do you usually get a real tree or a fake tree for Christmas? Who's in charge of decorating it at your house?
Every year, for as long as I can remember, we've gotten a REAL tree. Sure, you have to clean up the needles. Sure, you have to remember to water it. Sure, you gotta haul it in and haul it out every year. Sure, it's harder to put the lights on because the needles STICK you. Sure, sure, sure. BUT THAT'S WHAT WE LIKE TO DO, OK.
*tosses head*

6. Does your family usually stay home or go visiting (friends, relatives, etc.) on Christmas Day?
We always, always, ALWAYS stay home on Christmas Day. Sometimes we go places on Christmas EVE, but on Christmas DAY we stay home. I think Christmas would be ruined for me if I had to GO anywhere. :P

7. What does your family usually do on New Years Eve? Any traditions? Do you ever stay up till midnight?
Yes, and yes. We always stay up till midnight. We play games and eat homemade appetizers. We turn on the TV and watch 'The Ball" drop in New York. We go out on the porch and say "Happy New Year". Then, we go to bed. Sound like fun?
O
8. Do you get snow where you live? If so, have you ever built a snowman and named him Olaf?
Why, no. I can sing the song, though.

9. If it's snowing outside, would you prefer to go outside and build snowmen and enjoy it, or would you rather stay inside with a blanket and something hot to drink and maybe a movie or a book?
It depends on the kind of snow it is (such as sticky, or wet and soppy, etc), and what sort of mood I'm in at the time. I usually like to stay inside and look out the window, but I have been guilty of enjoying the snow out-of-doors too.

10. When do you start looking forward to or getting excited about Spring?
Well, every Winter, Spring seems to be in the back of my mind. I ALWAYS look forward to Spring, even in the SUMMER I like Spring the best. But I would say that after my birthday and after Valentine's day, there's nothing else for me to look forward to, so I just keep looking for Spring.
So yeah, after Valentine's day. :)

~*~*~

Well, there you go. I hope you enjoy my little tag. :) Have a good Winter, peeps! I tried to post this close to Christmas, but not TOO close so that people would still have time to do it!

Here is the list of questions:

1. Name a few things you love about Winter, and a few things you don't love so much about it.
2. When you were a child, did you "believe" in Santa Claus?
3. Is there a book or movie that you really love to read in the Winter as opposed to other times of year?

6. Does your family usually stay home or go visiting (relatives, friends, etc.) on Christmas Day?
7. What does your family usually do on New Years Eve? Any traditions? Do you ever stay up till midnight?

10. When do you start looking forward to or getting excited about Spring?

Currently in November // 2017

This is one of those posts that I MEANT TO POST awhile ago, but I kept thinking of things to add to it, and then I FORGOT ABOUT IT, and I had to make sure my new stuff made sense with the old stuff in the post... and you know.
In other words, some of these things are a little out-of-date.
Anyways, here is what I've been up to these past couple of weeks.

From Etsy
Sorry to disappoint all of you, but I am 100% NOT doing NaNoWriMo this year. I tried to do it once, like 3 years ago, but it did not end well.
  • There was no rough draft.
  • There was no book.
  • There was no contract signed with a publishing company.
  • There was no Interview on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, in which I discussed my character developments and story processing.
And I'm not in the mood to not do all of that again this year. :P
Perhaps next year, though! I do want to do it someday. I just have to get all of my thoughts and plots and characters together, and that is no easy task.
The only thing I've written this month are grocery lists, a few blog post notes, and a small letter to a friend. That is all.
Also my Christmas list. For my mom.

From Indulgy

~The Help, by Kathrine Stockett.
And guys. It. is. so. good.
~The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer, which I'm not finished with, but it has been very sweet so far. Also, bravo to them for the outlandish name *claps emphatically*
~A few enjoyable posts, written by you guys!

~Iron Man. I know, aren't I so brave for coming out of my shell and trying another superhero movie? I suppose so!
Yes, yes, I'm brave and all that, but did I like the movie? Well............ not a lot. I liked Tony Stark. But the rest ... meh. I just find superhero movies boring. I know, I know. You think I have no class. You think I'm just plain STUPID, perhaps.
But my grandma always said: "TO EACH HIS OWN".
#so there
Anyways. Other things I've watched:

~Sherlock BBC. Which is amazing. As usual.
~The Imitation Game (you might remember my opinions on the movie from this post)
~Spider-Man: Homecoming. Watched it with my best friend. Which was quite fun.
~Monk (not all the episodes... but some.) Such a fun show.
~The Help. Because I just read the book, and wanted to watch the movie again. I didn't understand it when I watched it the first time because I was quite young.
~This rather amusing (albeit pointless) video from Good Mythical Morning: Blowtorching Bananas.
(Don't ask; I am easily amused in spite of my interminable high standards).

~Hawaiian food; because a friend of mine owns a Hawaiian food truck, and it's quite delicious.
~Homemade puppy chow.
~Thanksgiving stuff: You know; chocolate pie, turkey, potatoes and stuff.
~Homemade chili (which is quite good).
~Quinoa salad (healthy and delicious at the same time = win and win).

From Tumblr

(Not to worry, it's not me)
~A funny thing happened with my car (Not 'haha' funny, but the other kind of funny. You know). One night on my way home from somewhere, I was adjusting my headlights, but I must have adjusted them real good because what do you know, the next morning my car was dead as a door-nail.

I had apparently left the headlights on all night. :P
(I know. How brilliant of me).
I couldn't get to work until (thankfully) a neighbor happened to see my trouble and help me get her started again with some jumper cables.
I know, I know. "What a very silly thing for you to do, Amaris!" But look at it this way: that's one mistake I will never make again for sure.
And thankfully, everything turned out ok.

From a show I have not yet seen.

~ For Christmas presents. Which I can't talk about, because #spoilers.

~For The Good Doctor (ABC) to come to Netflix; because I don't have TV so I can't watch it until it either comes out on DVD, or on Netflix. So until one of those things happen, I can't watch it. Which is sad because it looks so good. (Plus, you guys. It's the chocolate kid all grown up! I feel so old right now...).
~For Owl City, Cinematic (refer to the next paragraph to hear about this one)
~To go to the theater to watch Murder on the Orient Express; because it's been a long time since I've been to the movie theater. Plus, I never enjoyed Hercule Poirot books all that much, and I want to see if a movie will make me like him better.

From weheartit
~NOT TO CHRISTMAS MUSIC.
(AT LEAST TRYING NOT TO)

~To song previews of Owl City's new album, Cinematic.Which is coming out like a million years from now... June 2018. Hopefully I won't die before then. :(
But anyways, the previews sound great.

*heavy breathing*

~*~*~
Anyways, that's about it! It seriously took me forever to finish this post. :P I just kept coming back to it, and forgetting about it...
But here it is; here you go.
I hope you enjoyed.
If you made it this far, that is.

Today is Thanksgiving! // 2017

Hello friends! This is just a short post to say:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

...If you celebrate it!
If not... well... I don't know. Just be thankful for no reason.

Here are a few random things I'm thankful for:
1. The fact that I don't have a sore throat all the time.
2. That there is a working mouse that goes with my computer.
3. A car that has good tires.
4. That I live in a universe where stars exist.
5.The fact that all books smell good, even if it's a 'bad book'.

That is all for now. I hope you are enjoying yourself!
#yay
#so fall
#very pumkin
#many thankfullness

Ok. I know it's getting annoying with the hashtags.
...#sorry

p.s. If you read this the day after Thanksgiving, I HOPE YOU HAD A GOOD ONE!!!

Just a Few Opinions About 'The Imitation Game' [2014]

 "I'm not a spy, I'm a mathematician."

The other day, I watched a movie, The Imitation Game.
And the movie surprised me, a bit. There were some things about it that I didn't expect. So, I wanted to write a post about it, for your enjoyment.
Here we go.

Let's Start Off With a Disclaimer:
I'm not going to recommend this movie to you to watch if your family has young children, unless members in your family are, say, 16-ish or older. Or whoever is old enough to view things like homosexuality in a movie with a fresh, biblical perspective. This is not your "Family Movie Night" kind of movie. With that being said, it is a good idea that every movie you wish to watch with your family in your own home be reviewed first by a reputable 'Christian worldview' movie site such as Plugged In Online, which my family has been reading for years.
This is just my suggestion, of course, and I understand that every family is different in the way they do things.
Anyways, you will probably understand/agree with me more after you read my opinions here.

In light of that, let us continue!
Here are my opinions about The Imitation Game, starring  Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Allen Leech, plus more.
The overview:
Alan Turing, a British scientist and mathematician (who was also a homosexual), and his team have to break a system of 'unbreakable' Nazi codes by building a machine (a.k.a. 'the world's first digital computer) that will analyze and decipher German Enigma messages in order to win WWII.

Let's begin with a few notes on talent:
1. Brilliant acting
Everyone played their role incredibly well, in my opinion. I always love a movie where the acting is on par. It makes such a difference. Sometimes people say I have high standards when I (occasionally) say I don't like a movie because it has bad acting.
But for real, good acting can seriously make all the difference in the world, in spite of how good the story might be in itself.

Also, on acting:
2. Keira Knightley surprised me
I gotta be honest: Keira Knightley has never blown me away with a role. I guess it's because the only films I've seen her in have never done much for me. I don't like any of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies,  and you all know my opinion about Pride & Prejudice 2005, which isn't a HORRIBLE movie, but like I said, 'it doesn't do much for me.'
I was surprisingly pleased by the good job Knightley did with this role in particular. I even, shall I say, enjoyed watching her. It could've been her chemistry while acting with Benedict Cumberbatch that did the trick, or perhaps she was just acting better than normal.
I also really appreciated her character (a.k.a. who was actually a real person, but we'll call her a 'character'). She was very supportive and understanding, able to do a hard day's work, but also smart as any man. That is what I call a good strong female character that isn't annoying or sexualized!

3. The story overall
I have to mention the overall telling of this story.
I feel like it deserves more than just to say 'it was done well'. I say that the story was interesting, kept me un-bored, flowed nicely, wasn't confusing (for the most part), as well as historically pleasing. Meaning, historical in a way that is enjoyable yet sad (at the same time) without being too morbid, as some war movies tend to be.
Yes, I just made up that term, 'historically pleasing'. It's like 'aesthetically pleasing' but with history. Do you like it?  :)
Anyways. Just in the case of the story itself, it was a good movie from that standpoint as well.

Now I shall get into some (*ahem*) 'other' stuff.
4. The movie didn't go 'overboard' with the gay stuff
There is one thing in particular (apart from all the good things I've already said about it) that stood out and really impressed me about this movie.
While it is the story of a homosexual man, the movie COULD'VE taken a whole lot more 'creative liberty' with the homosexual details, but it didn't. I mean, his lifestyle was apparent and pervading throughout the movie, but it could've shown a lot of things.
It could've shown him with other men (*cough*), but it didn't, and in another part, during a friendship story that the movie told between young Turing and another boy at his school (while it was clear the boys were 'very fond' of each other), it could've portrayed their friendship much more intimately, but... it didn't.

I guess I was impressed that this movie was actually able to tell the story according to history while not 'spicing things up' like they could have. And I respect that. Especially since our culture and society really pushes and supports the lifestyle, this movie was just telling a story. A good story.
That's why I do not consider The Imitation Game 'A Gay Movie', but rather 'A Movie About a Man Who Happened to be Gay But Also Did Some Other Stuff'.
You know what I mean? There is a difference.
In fact, the only thing to watch out for as far as 'explicit gay content' is just one comment Turing makes at one point in the movie about his activities with another man. It was definitely cringe-worthy, but other than that, 'content-to-watch-out-for' is almost (almost) nonexistent in this movie.

Basically though, this one thought alone is what made me want to write a review post on this movie.
Maybe I am easy to please, but it sure impressed me.

Don't get me wrong, of course. I'm not into 'gay movies' now.
You might remember that I didn't watch Beauty & The Beast for a long time after it came out because of the whole 'openly gay character' thing.
I still don't agree with the homosexual lifestyle (same as I don't agree with stealing or lying or cheating or ANY sin).
But if you'll notice, BatB was sort of... making fun of the whole thing. They were, in fact, playing with it.
Whereas, The Imitation Game was simply a true-story depiction. As in, this really happened. And they're telling the story about it.
It would be one thing if I were watching the movie because I support gay people. It would also be one thing if I was watching the movie because I enjoy gay characters.

No, no.

I watched this movie because
1. I love historical movies (at least the ones that are 99% clean),
2. I like WWII stories that don't just involve the battlefield and the gestapo and people hiding Jews,
3. I wanted to watch this movie when I first saw it come out because it looked interesting back then,
4. I don't think it's right that people back then were so hateful to homosexuals, and I think it's important to remember the way things used to be for people,
 and
5. Benedict Cumberbatch is my favorite actor (No, I'm serious. That's a legitimate reason.)

And there you have it.
If you choose to watch this movie, I hope you enjoy. Watch out for a couple of moments, but all in all, it's the kind of movie that I think is 'important to see eventually in your life'.

Thanks for reading!

The Book Lover Tag!

How nice, I have been tagged to answer these questions by Rachel from A Girl's Place! Thank you, Rachel!

(Btw, I just found her blog like 2 weeks ago, but I love browsing it! Go check it out for sure. There now! I shall continue).

Here are the Rules:
  • Answer the questions
  • Have fun (don't worry)
  • Tag some book-loving bloggers
Here are the questions, and my answers! I hope you enjoy.

1. If you could rewrite the end of a book, which one would it be?
This question is so hard... (come on, Amaris. It's only the first question. Get it together).
I honestly had a book once where I thought of writing an ending of my own. But I just can't remember what book it was. :P I'm afraid I'm ending up like with a horrid old brain. Tell you what: if I ever remember it,  I will come back and edit this answer on this post some time in the future, k?

2. Which fictional character are you most like?
Allow me to direct you to this tag I did.

3. Do you have any signed books?
I LOVE THIS QUESTION.
I am especially excited to answer this one, because I just got a new signed book! One of my favorite 'old' actors when I was a kid (and nowadays, too), was Charleton Heston. When I saw him in The Ten Commandments for the first time, I just thought he was just the best thing that ever happened to Hollywood.

Long story short, I happened to find his autobiography last time I went to a thrift store in my area. I bought it because 1. I still really like Chuck Heston, and 2. It was only 50 cents and in really good condition.
When I was looking at it later, I happened to turn to the title page and realized it was signed! I looked it up online to make sure, and according to a lot of images I found, it's his true real signature!
And you know that if the Internet says something, you KNOW it must be true, right?
(right? Guys?)
I was so excited. The book is now my precious.

Anyways, after that whole big long story, I also went to a book signing last year and got  my copy of The Book Thief signed by Markus Zusak, which was also a very fun experience.

4. What's the best book you've read so far this year?
*goes to Goodreads because I'm terrible at remembering these things*
Well, to be honest there haven't been TOO many amazing discoveries in books for me this year (I've only read 11), but a few that stand out are 1. The Help (which I'm reading right now, actually), 2. Rachel's Tears (which was heartbreaking but good), and 3. Hidden Places, which I actually read TWICE this year.
Overall, I have to say the best was Hidden Places.

5. Do you have any bookish pet peeves?
CAN YOU AUTHOR PEOPLE STOP ITALICIZING SO MANY WORDS. I know some people don't have a problem with it, but I find it quite annoying. It's ok if you're using them while typing a blog post, but in a book? It's just... eegh.
I also hate it when there are a ton of cheesy love scenes in a book that don't exactly do anything to make me love the characters more, nor do they drive the story forward in any way.
Annoying.

6. Out of the books you have read this year, what has had your favorite cover?
(I have exercised my power as the Author Of This Blog and changed the spelling of 'favourite' to 'favorite'. Hah. Haha. Power. Yes.)

That would be Mara, Daughter of the Nile. I had been wanting to read this one for years because I loved the cover and it had such a nice Egyptian aesthetic. Which I love (I loved The Ten Commandments, remember?).

7. Is there a book that releases this year that you cannot wait to read?
Actually, I don't really follow a lot of current authors. I always like it when Lynn Austin comes out with something new, but I don't think she's coming out with anything any time soon. *shrug* I know. Boring answer. :)

8. What is your favorite non-fiction book?
(Again, changed the spelling of favourite. Hah. hah.)
Going back again to 'favorite books of this year so far', I have to say that I really liked 'Rachel's Tears'. I gotta admit, I don't really read a lot of non-fiction. It has to have REALLY good reviews for me to even be tempted. I do think that I will enjoy Charleton Heston's autobiography, but I can't list that here, because I haven't read it yet. :) It looked really interesting, though.
Oh, and when I was in high-school, I read The Hiding Place, by Corrie Ten Boom, which was also a masterpiece of written history.

9. Do you have any favorite location and/or time period to have a book set in?
I looooove medieval settings in books. I enjoyed The False Prince series for that (also because they was a smashing good books, you know).
I usually like Civil War setting books as well, but I've been kind of tired of those lately.
I also usually love WWII books. But some of them can get too morbid. : /

10. Is there a book that reminds you of something else?
This is a very broad question, I feel, but I think I have an answer. I've mentioned this before on my blog, but The Blue Castle, by L.M. Montgomery, reminds me of a very relaxing Summer I had once a few years ago, during which I was able to read lots of books, and I loved looking out my window for no reason at all, and I just saw beauty in every little thing because Life was a good time for me.

~*~
Well, look at that! I'm done!
And I wrote this entire post all in one sitting, too! Usually I have to come back to finish a post I'm working on, but I just saw that Rachel tagged me like half an hour ago, and here I am finished with the tag! Hooray for me. :)

Let me think, who do I want to tag?
Let's do:
Natalie
Abbie
Morgan
Cordy

If any of my tagged people have already done these questions, I'm sorry I didn't notice! You don't have to do this tag again in that case... unless you want to. :)
There now! Off you pop!
(Can you tell I've been watching Sherlock BBC again, what with the British phrases?)

 The Questions:
1. If you could rewrite the end of a book, which one would it be?
2. Which fictional character are you most like?
3. Do you have any signed books?
4. What's the best book you've read so far this year?
5. Do you have any bookish pet peeves?
6. Out of the books you have read this year, what has had your favourite cover
7. Is there a book that releases this year that you cannot wait to read?
8. What is your favourite non-fiction book?
9. Do you have any favourite location and/or time period to have a book set in?
10. Is there a book that reminds you of something else?

I hope you enjoy doing this tag! If you don't have a blog, feel free to answer these in the comments! I would LOVE to read your answers! (*LOOKS DIRECTLY AT BEST FRIEND*)
Ok.
Bye!

How I Feel About Halloween...

Hello, friends!
~*~

(Wow. You are quite the tolerant one, considering the fact that I have started at least 50 gajillion posts with the words 'hello, friends').
Anyways. I hope you are having a good Fall, and for those of you who celebrate Halloween, I hope you had a good one!
I've been thinking lately about Halloween, and each year it becomes more clear to me my opinion of it, so I thought I would share.

1. I love the ghosts and bats.
Ok. This love/hate is kind of random. When I say "ghosts", I'm talking about the cute little white ghosts with a little smile and two little eyes. Possibly cartoon, or the ones homemade.
I just really like those. See?
I also love cute little bats. Not the evil, bloody looking bats with horrid fangs, but little bats (made of paper or cloth or whatever) with cute little faces and tiny little wings. Also the cartoon ones.
So adorable.
If I had to choose at least two decorations for Halloween, it will be little ghosts and little bats everywhere.
But mostly I'm just not a Halloween person at all.

2. I hate the bloody limbs.
Are you kidding me? You're going to decorate your house with severed limbs? I just have such a hard time wrapping my brain around this.
Let me ask you this: Do you actually like it when you hear on the news that someone's arm or leg or head got severed? (Wow. Great image to put in people's heads, Amaris. Good job.)
Well then why the heck would you literally play with that idea? Decorate with it? Make fun with it?
 ~
Me try to make sense of it, but...
me no understand.

3. I love everyone's costume ideas (the nice ones, anyway).
I really do enjoy going onto YouTube this time of year, because there are soooo many cute ideas for makeup, costumes, and more. The idea of costumes and dressing up just makes me excited. Maybe because I like creating things, or maybe because I just like being Someone Else for a little bit.
Some of my favorite Halloween Costume Videos are:

Mermaid Makeup. (There are a ton more mermaid tutorials out there, I just picked this one because it's one of my favorites).

Dean from Supernatural (A female version. Even though I don't watch the show, I like this tutorial).

Ancient Greece (I think I like this outfit more than the makeup. But both are pretty cool).

Spiderwebs (I don't really like the other makeup looks in this video: if you're like me, you can skip to 3:16 for the webs).

Basically, costumes are great. In fact, if we could just have a holiday that was literally nothing but costumes and candy with nothing else, I would be ok with it. Anybody else? No?
Let's move on.

4. I hate that Satan, evil, and death are glorified.
Aren't most people afraid of death anyways?
Why would you make celebration out of it?
It kind of brings me back to the question about the severed limbs thing.
Why?
That is the question:
whyyyy?
I just.
don't.
under. stand.

Wouldn't most people (even non-Christians) agree that Satan is evil and terrible and Not-Something-To-Be-Made-Fun-Of?
Then why is he given so much... glory? Unnecessary attention, even?

*bangs head on table because why*

5. I love hearing about people's plans.
There are some people who really live for this time of year. They wait for it and plan for it all year long just so they can have a good time on the Big Day, work on costumes, and make videos.
Some people do a thing on YouTube (#vlogoween I believe it's called) where they do a vlog-style video every single day in October.
I don't know if you all watch Grav3yardgirl, but I have really enjoyed her videos specifically this year (FYI, her channel is 99% clean except for her profile pic. #shame on you, bunny).
I love hearing about everyone's plans, I love to see who's going all out with the costume, and which ones are planning on doing parties, or if they're just doing the neighborhood trick or treating, or you know.
I just love to see everyone's excitement. Seeing people happy an anticipating about something, in turn, makes me excited and upbeat, even if I am not joining in the celebrations.

6. I hate all of those temporary cheap Halloween stores that pop up everywhere.
And I have to be honest: I've never been inside one.
You might ask, "But, Amaris, if you've never been in one, how do you know it's so terrible, and how do you hate it so much?"
Believe me, it's not hard.
1. I've seen vlogs on YouTube of people inside of them (such as Grav3yardgirl),
2. If it's Halloween-related, it's going to be something evil and scary in which case I would not be interested anyways, and
3. The signs and billboards, from which I can tell pretty easily if I don't want to go in. As I'm sure most of us can.
I pretty much hate every Halloween store, and every Halloween section in every store. It's just... icky. :P

7. I love the time of year.
Halloween happens during the greatest time of Fall: before it's too super cold, but just cold enough to be comfortable in a costume, and the leaves aren't completely gone yet, so it's still pretty out, plus, it's pumpkin season.
So basically there is a lot to love.
Weather, costumes, pumpkins.... parties. You know.

Oh.
And candy.

Me loves the candy.

Anyways, that about wraps it up (hehe.. 'wraps'... just like a Halloween mummy, right? Get it? Ok, I'll stop). I was going to post this LAST Monday, it being the day before Halloween, but I did not get all of my thoughts (and pictures) together in time. :P
You know how it is. At least, if you have a blog you know how it is.

Well. I hope you all had a good Halloween, if you celebrated it!
If not, I hope you continue to enjoy Fall (provided you're a Fall Person. If you're not, I'm sorry).

HAVE A GOOD DAY, FRIENDS.

Do any of you celebrate Halloween? If so, what was your costume? What is your favorite and LEAST favorite thing about this holiday?
Bye!
